Indoctrination curriculum

Read the official rule

This regulation specifies what must be covered in indoctrination training for airlines operating under an Advanced Qualification Program (AQP). The required content varies by role:

Newly hired personnel must learn the airline's policies, operating practices, and general operational knowledge relevant to their position.

New crewmembers and dispatchers need general aeronautical knowledge appropriate to their specific duties.

Instructors must understand teaching fundamentals—how people learn, instructional methods and theories, and how to effectively use simulators, training devices, and other AQP training equipment.

Evaluators must learn AQP evaluation requirements, how to assess crewmembers and other personnel, and the specific evaluation methods used in AQP programs (such as Line Operational Evaluations).

This ensures everyone entering an AQP-based training program starts with the foundational knowledge needed for their particular role, whether they're operating aircraft, teaching others, or evaluating performance.
