Recordkeeping requirements

Read the official rule

If your airline operates an Advanced Qualification Program (AQP), you must keep detailed records proving you're following all AQP requirements. The regulation doesn't specify exactly which records or what format, but they must be thorough enough to demonstrate compliance with both your approved AQP curriculum and the regulatory requirements in this subpart.

In practice, this means documenting training events, evaluations, instructor qualifications, curriculum revisions, and student progress. These records serve as your proof during FAA inspections that your AQP is operating as approved. Without adequate recordkeeping, you cannot demonstrate compliance even if you're actually doing everything correctly. The level of detail should be sufficient that an inspector can verify your program meets all applicable standards—think of it as creating an auditable paper trail for your entire training operation.
