US-FAA14 CFR 135.119

Prohibition against carriage of weapons

Read the official rule

This regulation prohibits anyone from carrying deadly or dangerous weapons aboard aircraft operated under Part 135 (commuter and on-demand operations). The weapon ban applies whether the weapon is concealed or openly carried.

There are two exceptions. First, government officials and employees—whether federal, state, or municipal—may carry weapons if they're authorized to do so by their agency. Second, the certificate holder (the airline/operator) can authorize specific crewmembers or other persons to carry weapons aboard their aircraft.

In practical terms, this means passengers generally cannot bring weapons on Part 135 flights. Law enforcement officers can carry their duty weapons, and the operator might authorize certain personnel (like security staff or specially trained crew) to be armed. The certificate holder has discretion over who besides law enforcement may carry weapons on their aircraft.
