US-FAA14 CFR 61.95

Operations in Class B airspace and at airports located within Class B airspace

Read the official rule

This regulation sets requirements for student pilots to fly solo in Class B airspace or at airports within Class B airspace.

Before a student pilot can fly solo in Class B airspace, they must receive specific ground and flight training in that particular Class B area from an authorized instructor. The instructor must provide a logbook endorsement confirming the student is proficient for solo flight in that specific airspace, and this endorsement is only valid for 90 days.

Similarly, to fly solo to, from, or at an airport within Class B airspace, the student needs training specific to that airport, plus a separate 90-day endorsement for operations at that particular airport.

Note that each Class B airspace area and each Class B airport requires its own training and endorsement—they're not transferable. This regulation doesn't apply to students pursuing sport pilot or recreational pilot certificates.
