Recordkeeping
Read the official ruleThis regulation establishes recordkeeping requirements for fractional ownership program managers operating under Subpart K. Program managers must maintain and make available for FAA inspection several key records at their principal base:
- Management specifications and current aircraft lists showing equipment capabilities
- Detailed pilot records including certificates, experience, duty assignments, medical certificates, training completion dates, flight time, and competency check results
- Flight attendant records showing training completion
- Current fractional owner and aircraft lists
Pilot and flight attendant records must be kept for at least 12 months (aircraft lists for 6 months), and employee records must be retained 12 months after employment ends.
For each flight, program managers must prepare a load manifest in duplicate showing passenger count, weights, center of gravity, aircraft registration, route, and crew assignments. The pilot in command carries one copy; the program manager keeps the other for 30 days. A document identifying operational control and the operating rules must also accompany each flight and be retained for 30 days.
