CAMP: Maintenance recording requirements

Read the official rule

Program managers operating aircraft under a Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) must maintain detailed maintenance records using the system described in their maintenance manual. These records must document everything needed to issue airworthiness releases and track critical information including total time in service, life-limited parts status, overhaul times, inspection status, airworthiness directive compliance, and major alterations or repairs.

Most maintenance records must be kept until the work is repeated or superseded, or for one year after completion. Records of complete overhauls must be retained until equivalent work is performed. The comprehensive status records (total times, life-limited parts, etc.) must be kept with the aircraft and transferred to new owners when sold.

All records must be available for inspection by the FAA or NTSB upon request. This regulation ensures program managers maintain a complete maintenance history necessary for safe aircraft operation and regulatory compliance.
