It serves national air traffic for the city of Xalapa. Operated by the state-owned Servicios Aeroportuarios de Veracruz, it is named after El Lencero, the small town outside of Xalapa where it is situated, and Antonio Chedraui, a notable entrepreneur from Xalapa.
