Privacy policy

The Pilots Desk is built to be used without an account and without tracking you across the web. This page explains what limited data we do handle.

The short version

• You can browse the entire site without an account and without accepting any cookies.
• We use privacy-respecting analytics only if you consent — decline and no analytics cookies are set.
• We don't sell your data, run ad networks, or build advertising profiles.

Cookies

sets cookies to measure aggregate, anonymised usage (pages viewed, rough region, device type). If you decline or ignore the notice, these are not set. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the `pd_consent` cookie.

• Analytics (optional, off by default): if you accept in the cookie notice, Google Analytics 4
• Admin session (operators only): a single `pd_admin` cookie is set only for the site operator

after logging in to the content-review tools. It is never set for normal visitors.

Analytics data

When enabled, Google Analytics processes anonymised usage data on our behalf. We do not send it any name, email, or precise location. Google's handling is governed by Google's privacy policy.

If you contact us or sign in

• Email you send to us (e.g. an error report) is used only to reply and to fix the issue.
• Optional sign-in: the site can offer a passwordless "magic link" sign-in delivered by our email

provider (Resend). It is restricted to approved addresses and is not part of normal use; if you use it, your email address is processed to send the link and identify your session.

Third parties that may process data

never anything about you.

• Google Analytics — anonymised, consent-gated usage measurement.
• Cloudflare — CDN and security; processes request metadata (e.g. IP) to serve and protect the site.
• AeroDataBox — live flight data is fetched on demand; we send it only airport/flight identifiers,
• Resend — only if you use optional email sign-in or email us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under the GDPR/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Because we hold almost nothing about ordinary visitors, this usually only concerns emails you've sent us. To make a request, email [email protected].

Children

The site is a general aviation reference and is not directed at children under 13.
