Off route obstacle clearance altitude

The lowest published altitude that provides 1,000 feet (2,000 feet in mountainous areas) of obstacle clearance within a specified distance of an off-route navigation facility or waypoint. Used for flight planning when operating outside established airways or routes, typically in remote or mountainous terrain where standard route structures don't exist.
