UNICOM vs CTAF

UNICOM is a non-government air-to-ground communication station that provides airport information and may relay ATC instructions. CTAF (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency) is the designated frequency where pilots broadcast position reports and intentions at non-towered airports. UNICOM often serves as the CTAF, but CTAF may also be a MULTICOM frequency when no UNICOM exists.
