This regulation lists which Part 107 rules you can request a waiver for when operating a drone commercially. If the FAA grants your waiver under §107.200, you may deviate from specific requirements including:

  • Operating from moving vehicles or aircraft
  • Anti-collision lighting for night operations
  • Visual line of sight requirements
  • Using visual observers
  • Flying multiple drones simultaneously
  • Right-of-way rules
  • Operations over people
  • Operations in certain airspace
  • Various operating limitations
  • Operations over moving vehicles

However, there's an important restriction: you cannot get waivers for operating from moving vehicles or beyond visual line of sight if you're carrying property for compensation (commercial delivery operations).

This matters because it defines the boundaries of operational flexibility. While many Part 107 rules can be waived if you demonstrate equivalent safety, some commercial delivery scenarios remain prohibited even with a waiver. Other regulations not on this list cannot be waived at all.
