Knowledge tests: Cheating or other unauthorized conduct

This regulation prohibits cheating on Part 107 drone pilot knowledge tests. You cannot copy, remove, share, or receive test questions or answers, get help during the test, take the test for someone else, or use unauthorized materials. You also cannot help others cheat or participate in cheating in any way.

If the FAA determines you've violated these rules, you face a one-year ban from applying for any FAA certificate, rating, or authorization, and from taking any FAA tests. Additionally, any certificates or ratings you currently hold can be suspended or revoked.

This applies to all Part 107 knowledge tests, including the initial remote pilot certificate test and recurrent training tests. The regulation ensures test integrity and that certificated remote pilots have genuinely demonstrated the required aeronautical knowledge. Only materials specifically authorized by the FAA (like the test supplement with charts and figures) may be used during the exam.
