How this works
Each requirement uses the correct clock: the 61.57 passenger landings are a rolling 90 days; the flight review (61.56), instrument currency (61.57(c)) and the BasicMed course are calendar months; the BasicMed medical exam is 48 months from the exam date.
Instrument currency shows the 6-calendar-month window plus the additional 6-month grace period during which you may regain currency by flying 6 approaches, holding and course intercepting/tracking without a check — after that an Instrument Proficiency Check is required.
