How this works
Wind triangle: WCA = arcsin(wind speed × sin(wind angle) ÷ TAS); ground speed = TAS × cos(WCA) − wind component along course.
True airspeed uses the ~2% per 1,000 ft of density altitude rule — a close approximation, not a precise CAS/Mach solution.
