Der Luftsportverein (LSV) Eßweiler ist hervorgegangen aus dem Luftsportverein Landstuhl, der am 14. Juli 1928 als Luftfahrtverein Landstuhl in der gleichnamigen Stadt gegründet wurde. Der Verein betreibt seit 18. Juli 1963 das vereinseigene Segelfluggelände am Westhang des Königsbergs bei Eßweiler. Der LSV Eßweiler ist Mitglied im Deutschen Aero Club e. V..
