About Jever Air Base
Der Flugplatz Jever (früher Fliegerhorst Jever, ICAO-Code: ETNJ) ist ein inzwischen entwidmeter deutscher Fliegerhorst der Luftwaffe auf dem Gebiet der Städte Schortens und Jever. Standortbezeichnung ist Schortens. Der Flugbetrieb wurde Ende September 2013 eingestellt. Derzeit ist der Flugplatz Standort des Objektschutzregimentes der Luftwaffe „Friesland“, das dort insbesondere die Verteidigung eines Fliegerhorstes üben kann. Am 3. Dezember 2025 wurde öffentlich bekannt gegeben, dass der Fliegerhorst einer Rewidmung unterzogen werden soll, um der aktuellen sicherheitspolitischen Weltlage gerecht zu werden.
