Der Flugplatz wurde zunächst als Sonderlandeplatz genehmigt und hatte den ICAO-Code EDQY. Er wurde am 12. März 2025 zum Segelfluggelände abgestuft, es hat aber eine Sonder-Start-/ Landegenehmigung der vereinseigenen Motorflieger.
