Der Flugplatz liegt südlich des Nord-Ostsee-Kanals, nahe der Fähre Breiholz. Er ist über die Straße parallel zum Kanal von Rendsburg beziehungsweise aus Breiholz zu erreichen. Der Flugplatz gehört zur Gemeinde Hörsten, die auf beiden Seiten des Kanals liegt.
