About Nummela Airfield
Nummelan lentokenttä (ICAO: EFNU) (engl. Helsinki West) sijaitsee Vihdissä Lohjanharjulla valtatien 25 ja Nummelan taajaman välissä. Sitä hallinnoi Nummelan Lentokenttäyhdistys ry. Lentokentästä käytetään englanniksi nimitystä Helsinki West. Nummelan lentokenttää kehitetään ekologisen, digitaalisen ja sähköisen ilmailun perusteella. Syksyllä 2019 on kiitotien 04/22 asfaltit uusittiin, ja myös poikittaiskiitotie 09/27 on asfaltoitu. Syksyllä 2021 lentokentällä otettiin käyttöön automaattinen valvontajärjestelmä, joka havaitsee ja varoittaa kiitotiealueella olevista esteistä. Keväällä 2023 Nummelaan tuli voimaan IFR-lähestymismenetelmä kiitotielle 04. Syksyllä 2023 on otettu käyttöön kiitotievalot, ja lentokenttä hyväksyttiin yölentotoimintaan. Syksyllä 2024 asennettiin APAPI-valot kiitotielle 04. Lentokentällä ei ole julkista polttoainepistettä, mutta ennakkoon sopimalla tankkaus järjestyy. Polttoainelaatuja on neljää laatua; AVGAS 100LL, JET-A1, BE98E5 sekä BE95SE pienkonebensa.
