The airport is located in the city of Dallas, Georgia, 30 miles (48 km) northwest of Atlanta. It is owned by the Paulding County Board of Commissioners, and is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.
