About Griffiss International Airport
Griffiss International Airport is a public airport in the northeastern United States, located one mile (1.6 km) east of the central business district of Rome, a city in Oneida County, New York. Publicly owned by the county, the airport is located on the former site of Griffiss Air Force Base, which closed in 1995. Four years later, the airfield hosted the Woodstock '99 music festival.
