It is the largest and busiest airport in the country, handling almost 19 million passengers in the calendar year 2025, including 8.5 million domestic, and 10.4 million international. The airport is operated by Auckland International Airport Limited and is located near Māngere, a residential suburb, and Airport Oaks, a service-hub suburb 21 kilometres (13 mi) south of the Auckland city centre. It serves as the principal hub for Air New Zealand, and the New Zealand operating base for Jetstar.
